Accurate ATD Platinum Twin Drag Reels

The Accurate ATD Platinum Twin Drag Reels are two-speed offshore reels engineered for big-game fishing targeting species such as wahoo, tuna and marlin. The reel features a patented TwinDrag system with an ultra-smooth drag mechanism, complemented by a graduated alphanumeric visual reference scale that works with the preset lever for precise drag range settings. A two-speed Quick-Shift mechanism enables rapid transition between high and low gears. The reel incorporates seven ABEC-rated stainless steel bearings sealed with Teflon impregnation, heat-treated pinion gears, stainless steel gears, springs and clips, plus two stainless steel anti-reverse dogs. Unhindered free spool is maintained at every drag setting, and the reel includes harness lugs and an ATD reel bag with a one-year warranty.

The spool stud is removable for service and maintenance. Accudrags form the core of the drag system, delivering consistent pressure across the drag range. The stainless steel construction throughout critical components resists corrosion in saltwater environments, a standard requirement for offshore reel hardware. The alphanumeric scale is graduated, allowing repeatable drag settings without guesswork. Teflon-impregnated bearing seals represent typical practice in premium reel manufacturing for reducing maintenance frequency and extending service intervals. The overall design prioritises reduced weight alongside structural durability, addressing the demands of extended stand-up fishing sessions.

Serious big-game anglers and charter operators constitute the primary buyer segment for these reels. The Quick-Shift two-speed design suits deep-water jigging and trolling applications where fish sound rapidly after strike. Buyers should confirm with Shop Fishing Tackles the specific ATD model variant, line capacity specifications in metres of PE braid or monofilament, and the exact weight of the reel as these determine rod pairing and fishing technique suitability. The harness lugs indicate the reel is intended for heavy tackle use with fighting harnesses. Import buyers should verify whether the one-year warranty extends internationally and what documentation accompanies shipment.
