This is a two-component air-drying acrylic aliphatic polyurethane finish coating designed for industrial use. The product is non-yellowing and delivers a glossy or semi-glossy finish in industrial shades, with solids by volume at 40% ± 3% depending on the shade selected. It provides excellent weathering resistance and is engineered to withstand chemical fumes and splashes, making it suitable for high-corrosion environments.
The coating system comprises a base and hardener mixed at a supplier-recommended ratio, with a pot life of at least 4 hours at 30°C. It dries to the touch in 30 minutes and achieves a hard dry overnight, with full cure reached after 7 days. Theoretical spreading rate is 13.33 square metres per litre at a recommended dry film thickness of 30 microns. Both base and hardener have a flash point above 23°C and a shelf life of 6 months.
This finish is used as a topcoat over epoxy or polyurethane primers for applications in chemical, fertilizer, petrochemical plants, and premium industrial equipment. It is not suitable for immersion. Surface preparation requires removal of oil, moisture, dust and dirt, with aged coatings roughened using emery paper grade 400 or 600 for optimal adhesion. Application can be done by brush, conventional spray or airless spray, with thinner Type 290 used as needed.
