Quartz is applicable to car disc brake, drum brake pads, clutch and wet friction material. According to the performance requirement,The recommended regular consumption of quartz is from 2% to 8%. The character of Feldspar: Quartz is mainly refers to quartz sandstone, quartzite and vein quartz. Quartz crisp, no cleavage, conchoidal fracture, oily luster, milky white or colored translucent or other colors.Quartz chemical stability, resistance to high temperature, acid, slightly soluble in potassium hydroxide solution. Quartz belongs to the high hardness of the filler, ordinary sand is quartzite. friction industry used quartz powder is above 200 mesh, although it increase the friction effect, it also easy to cause obvious braking noise and scratches dual surface, therefore the quartz usage in the friction material industry is not much.
