Eco casket
Wuyi Xinglong Packing Co., Ltd produces eco caskets from biodegradable materials such as bamboo fiber, recycled paper pulp, and plant-based resins, designed to decompose naturally without chemical additives. These caskets are lightweight, with reinforced structural seams and a smooth, matte finish, suitable for green burial sites and eco-conscious funeral services. The design eliminates metal handles, veneers, and synthetic linings common in traditional caskets.
The materials used comply with biodegradability standards under ASTM D6400 and EN 13432, ensuring breakdown within 90 to 180 days under composting conditions. Typical weight ranges from 18 kg to 25 kg depending on size and reinforcement. The caskets are manufactured without formaldehyde, PVC, or petroleum-based adhesives, making them suitable for alkaline or neutral soil burial environments common in North America and Western Europe.
Buyers include funeral home operators, green cemetery providers, and NGOs promoting sustainable end-of-life options. Orders are typically placed in quantities of 50 to 500 units, packed in flat-pack corrugated cartons with internal foam inserts. Trade terms are commonly FOB Ningbo Port, with lead times of 20 to 30 days after deposit. Customization options include engraved name plates, fabric liners, and color finishes, subject to minimum order quantities.

Sourcing Eco Casket from Wuyi Xinglong Packing Co., Ltd - China Import Guide
Before ordering, verify the material composition and decomposition rate with certified lab reports under ASTM D6400 or EN 13432. Confirm the absence of metal, plastic, or synthetic linings. Request physical samples to inspect finish, seam strength, and weight consistency. Avoid suppliers who cannot provide test documentation for biodegradability claims.
Confirm lead time with the supplier, as custom designs may extend production to 30 days. Standard Incoterms are FOB Ningbo Port; CIF is available but increases cost. Payment is typically 40% deposit with balance against copy of bill of lading. Ensure packaging is labeled for fragile goods and includes handling instructions for funeral service providers.
Conduct a pre-shipment inspection for structural integrity, surface finish, and material consistency. Use a moisture meter to confirm levels are under 12%. Check that no synthetic dyes or coatings are present. Retain a sample from each batch for post-arrival testing. Request a certificate of compliance and a detailed packing list matching the order quantity and customization details.
