The tabular crystal structure is characterized by narrow pores, with more closed porosity, almost the same apparent porosity compare with fused corundum, high purity, good stability volume density, tiny refiring shrink. After high temperature treatment, tabular alumina is used for refractory and castable characterized by good thermal shock stability and flexural strength. But the price is higher than the other alumina.
