Egyptian leaf

The Egyptian leaf is a naturally dried botanical material sourced from specific regional flora in Upper Egypt, known for its thin, papery texture and muted earth-toned veining. The material delivered by Friends measures between 8 to 15 cm in length and 3 to 6 cm in width, with a typical dry weight of 0.8 to 1.2 grams per leaf. It is harvested during the dry season and air-dried without chemical treatment, preserving its natural fragility and colour variation.

This product is not a synthetic or printed substitute but a true plant-derived material, with no added dyes, preservatives, or coatings. In the industry, it is commonly classified as a Grade B botanical specimen, meaning minor surface blemishes and natural curling are expected and accepted. It is often compared to dried lotus or banana leaf in texture but retains a more rigid structure when dry, making it suitable for layered applications. The moisture content typically ranges from 8% to 12%, consistent with standard preservation for long-term storage.

Buyers include artisanal craft studios, luxury food presentation designers, and eco-conscious interior decorators who use it for wall accents, table settings, and mixed-media art. It is supplied in bulk bundles of 500 leaves, packed in breathable kraft paper with silica gel packs to maintain dryness. Trade terms are typically FOB Alexandria, with lead times of 10 to 14 days after order confirmation. MOQ is not specified by the supplier and must be confirmed directly.
