Basket

The SPR Handicrafts aluminium basket features Meenakari designs, a traditional Indian art form where intricate patterns are hand-painted and enamel-finished on metal. Each piece is crafted from aluminium, a material chosen for its lightweight durability and resistance to corrosion, making it suitable for both functional and decorative use. The basket’s artisanal process ensures no two designs are identical, with typical dimensions ranging from 20 cm to 40 cm in diameter, depending on the model.

Aluminium baskets of this type are typically produced in grades 1050 or 1060, which offer good formability and a polished surface ideal for enamel work. The Meenakari technique often uses vibrant colours like deep blues, greens, and reds, applied in layers and fired to create a glossy, long-lasting finish. Standard industry practice includes a clear lacquer coating to protect the enamel from scratches and moisture, a detail that enhances longevity in humid climates.

These baskets are primarily sourced by importers specialising in home decor, giftware, and traditional crafts for retail or hospitality sectors. Trade terms for such handcrafted items often include FOB or CIF, with packaging typically consisting of individual cartons or wooden crates to prevent damage during transit. Buyers should confirm the exact weight and volume constraints, as these can influence shipping costs and Incoterms selection.
