Electrochemical Sensing Module Chlorine (HOCl, HOBr or ClO2 ) & Temperature KAPTA 2000-AC2 In-line Chlorine Sensors General description The KAPTA 2000-AC2 probe has been specifically developed to measure free chlorine (HOCl) and temperature directly within a pressurised pipe for many applications including management and control of a drinking water network, real-time, rapid control of chemical dosing for industrial water processes and cleaning regimes and management of chlorine levels within swimming pools and spas. The KAPTA 2000-AC2 is an amperometric sensor using a structured photo-polymerised membrane directly on the electrode which suppresses the well-known drawbacks of amperometric sensors with electrolyte, such as pressure and flow sensitivity, and enables the probe to be installed directly within pipes up to 10 bar flow pressure without flow or pressure control. The sensor principal also eliminates the need for field re-calibration and on-going routine membrane replacement allowing both long-term stability of the signal and reduced maintenance costs. The principal of the measurement is based on a Clark-type cell with a working, counter and reference electrode. The sensor design includes a simple replaceable head which is easy to handle and requires no reagent or electrolyte. As the lifetime of the sensor can vary with the application, this design allows more flexibility and price improvement for critical applications. LLE Series Liquid Level Sensors Description The enhanced series of liquid level sensors incorporates a photo-transistor trigger which provides a digital output that denotes the presence or absence of liquid. The mode of operation is derived from the principle of total internal reflection. An LED and photo-transistor are housed within a plastic dome at the head of the device. When no liquid is present, light from the LED is internally reflected from the dome to the photo-transistor. When liquid covers the dome, the effective refractive index at the dome-liquid boundary changes, allowing some light from the LED to escape. Thus the amount of light received by the photo- transistor is reduced and the output switches, indicating the presence of liquid. This method of liquid level sensing is very fast, and almost instantaneous for water. LLE Series Liquid Level Sensors Description The enhanced series of liquid level sensors incorporates a photo-transistor trigger which provides a digital output that denotes the presence or absence of liquid. The mode of operation is derived from the principle of total internal reflection. An LED and photo-transistor are housed within a plastic dome at the head of the device. When no liquid is present, light from the LED is internally reflected from the dome to the photo-transistor. When liquid covers the dome, the effective refractive index at the dome-liquid boundary changes, allowing some light from the LED to escape. Thus the amount of light received by the photo- transistor is reduced and the output switches, indicating the presence of liquid. This method of liquid level sensing is very fast, and almost instantaneous for water. Digital Output Barometer Sensors Enhanced Digital Output Sensors: Extended temperature range ADO Series Barometric Military Grade Pressure Sensors General Description The Digital Output pressure sensors are based upon a proprietary surface mapping technology to produce a fully digital output that virtually eliminates all repeatable errors over temperature and pressure. This series provides a 12 bit digital serial output (14 bit in High Resolution Mode) with superior offset, span and linearity characteristics. The output is SPI and MICROWIRE/PLUS® compatible as well as fully compatible with the All Sensors GA142 Series sensors. In addition to synchronous communications, the Digital Output pressure sensors incorporates a bi-directional, TTL level, asynchronous serial interfaces mode (hardware selectable 9,600 or 19,200 baud). This mode includes a command set that allows the host to interrogate the sensor for model information, pressure range, serial number, pressure units and conversion factor. The command set also allows the host to select a high resolution output mode, make minor adjustments to offset and has an addressable feature that alows multiple sensors to be tied to the same interface buss. This series is intended for use with non-corrosive, non-ionic working fluids such as air, dry gases and the like. All signals are 5V TTL/CMOS compatible.
