This results in the formation of a micro-thin lubricating film, which has excellent anti-friction properties. EverFlon MV1 is a fragile PTFE powder that can be broken down into submicron particles by high shear mixing in a liquid medium. The degree of particle size reduction depends largely on the degree of shear. For example, mixing MV1 with a medium viscosity lubricant and then passing the mixture twice through a three-roll grinder yields a sub-micron size range, with many particles measuring 0.3 microns in size.
