One of his World Class athletes won an event that he was racing. During the interviews, the athlete took a drink from his sponsor's beverage, and AJ noticed the drink was crystal clear. When AJ later asked the athlete what he was drinking, the athlete responded "water!" During their conversation, AJ learned that these athletes are not allowed to race while using this specific product, and that they fill the cans with water for the publicity. Come to find out that many of the top products do not meet doping guidelines of professional sports. AJ realized that a large percentage of the drinks on the market are unhealthy, made with inferior raw materials, and do not meet their supplemental claims. This was AJ moment, and he set out to create something new Starting in mid 2020, AJ began the research and development for entering the functional beverage space; and soon, the name PLAYR1 was born.He worked closely with labs, nutritionists, and manufacturers.
